Emma McKiernan currently fulfils the role of Executive Vice President, responsible for our Nordic, Baltic and UK markets, as well as for strategic accounts and market data sales. She has been with Nord Pool since 2010 and first joined as a client representative helping to build Nord Pool’s UK market offering (N2EX) and grow the company's presence in what was then a brand-new market for Nord Pool.
Being an expert in customer service and having spent her entire working life in that sphere – some 18 years of that within the energy sector – Emma's focus and ambition is on ensuring that Nord Pool continues to provide best-in-class service and robust market operation.

The role of Emma’s team is to support existing clients and act as a central point of contact between customers and the wider Nord Pool organization, while also focusing on on-boarding new clients both in the trading and data space. In addition to her customer relationship management expertise, Emma is a passionate business development professional skilled in electricity markets, trading, risk management and renewable energy and values her diverse role highly.
“I really enjoy meeting and serving the needs of my customers but also the sheer variety in my role, which keeps me engaged and interested: one day I am working on strategy for our Nordic, Baltic and UK markets, the next could see me supporting one of my strategic accounts with a complex IT integration project or a collateral query. Nord Pool truly aims to put customers first and I enjoy the challenge of turning customer needs into real deliveries that add real value.”
Before joining Nord Pool, Emma was at ELEXON, the UK balancing and settlement company, as a senior consultant responsible for supporting new entrants into the UK power market.
